Along with the rename, Microsoft SharePoint home sites are getting a few updates that simplify intranet management.
Admins will soon be able to:
• Configure home sites directly from the SharePoint admin center
• Add a new Resources web part for quick links and destinations
• Use a new Announcements web part for internal updates
• Customize the SharePoint app experience in Teams for desktop and mobile
If your organization already customized the app name or logo in Teams, those settings stay unchanged.
Targeted rollout starts in May 2026, with general availability in June.
