Microsoft is rolling out two major updates that redefine how security teams work with Sentinel.
1️⃣ The Sentinel experience is transitioning from the Azure portal to the Microsoft Defender portal, with the Azure experience retiring on July 1, 2026.
This change brings a unified security experience, streamlined navigation, and tighter integration with the broader Defender ecosystem.
2️⃣ At the same time, the Sentinel Data Lake is now generally available — delivering better performance, compressed data storage for lower costs, enhanced scheduling, and improved cost management visibility.
These upgrades together mark a major leap toward a more connected, efficient, and cost-effective security operations experience.
