A new Security Detection Report is coming to the Microsoft Teams admin center, giving admins centralized visibility into messaging-based threats.
The report brings detections such as impersonation attempts, malicious URLs, and unsafe file types into one place, making investigation easier for admins and security teams.
Available in: Analytics & reports > Protection reports > Security detections report
1. Admins can review sender, recipient context, detection type, and available actions
2. Report data can be exported for further investigation, including sender ID and thread ID
3. Malicious external users identified in the report can be blocked directly through External access settings
Some protections are enabled by default:
• impersonation detection
• malicious link scanning
• unsafe file type scanning
Rollout timeline
• General Availability: Late June 2026
This gives Teams admins a clearer way to monitor messaging threats without relying only on scattered alerts across multiple tools.
