Surprisingly, that’s not how Microsoft Teams guest invitations worked before.
When users invited external guests to Teams, the invitation email was typically sent from a Microsoft no-reply address.
Starting from late June through late July 2026, Teams will send these invitations using the inviter’s email address instead.
✅ Guests can easily identify who invited them
✅ They can reply directly to the inviter
✅ Less confusion and greater trust in invitation emails
✅ A smoother external collaboration experience
