Previously, after creating a new DDG or modifying its filter, you might have had to wait up to 2 hours for membership to populate.
Thatโs changing.
If the filter returns 5,000 members or fewer, membership will now populate immediately as part of the create or modify action.
For larger groups (more than 5,000 members):
โข Membership will still populate in the background within up to 2 hours
โข Admins will now see a warning in both EAC and PowerShell during creation or modification
One useful detail: if you modify a large DDG, the existing membership list will continue to work until the updated one is ready.
The regular 24-hour membership refresh cycle remains unchanged.
Rollout begins in late May 2026 and is expected to finish by early June 2026.
