Microsoft is simplifying things a lot! They’re combining the Copilot Dashboard and Viva Insights analyst tools into one unified experience.
If you’ve been bouncing between the two or managing them separately for your team, that’s about to change for the better. Up until now, the experience was split across different tools. But with this update, everything’s coming together inside the Viva Insights web app.
The Copilot Dashboard is moving into Viva Insights, and analysts will now get access to it too plus two new Copilot usage reports.
With this rollout, everything lives in one place—the Viva Insights web app! It’s easy to delegate access, analysts can publish reports straight to the dashboard, and admins still have full control over who gets to see what, using the same Viva access settings they’re already familiar with. In short, it’s the same powerful tools, brought together in a smarter, cleaner way.
Into the Unified Copilot Analytics Experience:
This update isn’t just for one type of user, it impacts everyone who works with Copilot Analytics. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect, based on your role:
👉 If you currently use the Copilot Dashboard:
You’re in for a smoother experience. Once the rollout begins, you’ll see a banner in the Copilot Dashboard letting you know what’s coming. After that, you’ll be automatically moved to the Viva Insights web app.
You’ll still get access to everything you’re familiar with, plus a few upgrades:
- The Copilot Dashboard itself now within the Viva Insights web app.
- A new Reports page featuring aggregated tenant-level reports for Copilot Studio agents and Copilot for Sales adoption.
- The ability to delegate access to others in your org.
👉 If you’re a Viva Insights Analyst:
You’ll get all the above features and more:
- Full access to the Copilot Dashboard and Reports page (for those in the Global partition).
- Continued access to advanced analysis tools.
- The ability to publish reports directly to the Reports page for Copilot Analytics users.
👉 If you’re an admin:
You’ve got full access to the new setup. More importantly, you don’t need to do anything; Microsoft is carrying over all existing tenant-level settings automatically!
But if you want to fine-tune access, you still can:
- Use feature access management controls in Viva to manage dashboard and report access.
- Choose to disable access to the Viva Insights web app at the tenant level, for all roles except the Insights admin.
Here’s a quick snapshot of how the new setup compares to the old one:
Feature | Legacy Setup | Unified Experience |
Copilot Dashboard | Only for Copilot Analytics users | Now also available to Analysts |
Power BI Reports | Analysts only | Available to both Copilot Analytics users & Analysts |
Published Reports (view) | Not available | Viva Insights users can now view |
Publish Reports | Analysts only | No change |
Advanced Analysis | Analysts only | No change |
Also worth noting: the new Reports page brings in even more Copilot usage data through Power BI, making adoption tracking and usage insights way more robust.

The unified experience will go live mid-June 2025 and should finish rolling out globally by early July 2025.
The Copilot Analytics is growing fast, and it was high time everything came together in one place. By housing all the intelligence, insights, and analytics under Viva, Microsoft’s making it easier for teams to get the full picture—without the tool-hopping! You might also want to update any internal training materials or documentation you have to reflect this new unified experience.
