If your organisation uses premium custom HTML templates for Microsoft Teams Events email notifications, youโ€™ll need to verify the sending domain in Microsoft 365 before November 17, 2025.

From that date, custom HTML templates for Teams Events will only work if the emails are sent from a customer-owned, authenticated domain, no longer from Microsoftโ€™s default โ€œonmicrosoft.comโ€ or other default addresses.

If the domain isnโ€™t verified by then ๐Ÿ‘‡

  • You wonโ€™t be able to edit or send your custom HTML templates for event-notification emails.
  • Event emails must be sent from an authenticated, customer-owned domain โ€” not Microsoftโ€™s default email address.

Microsoft introduced this change to enhance email security, deliverability, and trust, ensuring your event notifications stay out of spam folders.

What You Must Do:

  • ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Set up and verify your organizationโ€™s domain in Microsoft 365 tenant settings.
  • ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Configure the domain so Microsoft products can send notifications from your orgโ€™s email address.
  • ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Complete this one-time setup before November 17, 2025, to ensure there is no interruption in your ability to use custom HTML event-notification templates.
