SharePoint Designer 2013 Support Ending July 14, 2026

For years, SharePoint Designer 2013 was the backbone of workflow automation for SharePoint β€” simple, powerful, and genuinely effective.

But this is something you can’t afford to ignore anymore, SharePoint Designer 2013 hits end of support on July 14, 2026.

Once that date passes:

  • 🚫 No more security updates or bug fixes
  • 🚫 Those workflows become a liability, not an asset
  • 🚫 Existing Designer workflows won’t be a safe long-term option

This feels like the end of an era but also a necessary step toward more modern, maintainable automation.

The path forward is Power Automate, and the good news is you’re not rebuilding from zero. Microsoft’s SPMT 4.1 can migrate supported Designer workflow actions directly; it won’t solve everything, but it takes the heavy lifting out of the equation.

Migrations rarely go perfectly on the first try, and the last thing you want is a scramble in July 2026 with a hard deadline staring you down.

If you haven’t already, start your audit now. Know what you have, what can be migrated, and what needs to be rebuilt.

Has your team begun the transition yet? Would love to hear how others are approaching this.
