A small but mighty update is on the way to make multitasking in Microsoft Teams a whole lot easier.
Teams will soon let us open channels in separate windows. This lets us keep multiple conversations or projects open at once, no more constant tab switching.
Here’s what’s new:
- Pop out any channel directly from the left rail or channel header.
- View multiple channels side by side, suitable for high-traffic or cross-functional teams.
- It’s enabled by default.
- Works on both Windows and macOS desktop clients.
Starting late October 2025, Teams becomes more flexible and focused without changing your existing settings or policies.
I’ve always wanted to keep two channels open at once while managing conversations — and it’s finally happening!
