From September 2025, if a phishing link shows up in your Teams chat or channel, Microsoft will automatically flag it with a malicious URL warning, before anyone even clicks. ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฐ (๐’๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“) โ†’ the feature is off by default. Admins need to enable it manually in the Teams Admin Center under Messaging Settings โ†’ โ€œScan messages for unsafe URLs.โ€ Or flip it on via PowerShell using the -UrlReputationCheck parameter.)
๐Ÿ‘‰๐€๐ญ ๐†๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ฏ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ (๐๐จ๐ฏ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“) โ†’ the feature will be on by default. And the best part? Even if just one participant in the chat has it enabled, protection works. Once GA hits, no action needed, itโ€™ll just work.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I personally see this as a huge step forward. Phishing links in Teams chats are one of those โ€œsilent risksโ€ that often get overlooked.

Do you plan to enable it right away during preview or wait for GA?
