From September 2025, if a phishing link shows up in your Teams chat or channel, Microsoft will automatically flag it with a malicious URL warning, before anyone even clicks. ๐ก
๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ฐ (๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ ๐๐๐๐) โ the feature is off by default. Admins need to enable it manually in the Teams Admin Center under Messaging Settings โ โScan messages for unsafe URLs.โ Or flip it on via PowerShell using the -UrlReputationCheck parameter.)
๐๐๐ญ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ (๐๐จ๐ฏ ๐๐๐๐) โ the feature will be on by default. And the best part? Even if just one participant in the chat has it enabled, protection works. Once GA hits, no action needed, itโll just work.
๐๐ป I personally see this as a huge step forward. Phishing links in Teams chats are one of those โsilent risksโ that often get overlooked.
Do you plan to enable it right away during preview or wait for GA?
