The wait is finally over for SharePoint admins!
Tenant Rename is now generally available — with no site count limits.
The rollout began in early October and is now completing worldwide, making this long-awaited feature accessible to all customers.
🔹 Licensing requirement: Tenants with more than 10,000 sites must have SharePoint Advanced Management (SAM) licenses purchased for all users.
🔹 Unsupported scenarios: Vanity domains and Multi-Geo environments remain unsupported.
This feature is particularly useful for organizations undergoing rebranding, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or tenant consolidations, allowing SharePoint URLs to align with their updated identity.
A major milestone that simplifies tenant management at scale while maintaining reliability and continuity across Microsoft 365.
