Microsoft 365 eSignature Now Generally Available

Microsoft 365 eSignature”

Microsoft has officially rebranded “SharePoint eSignature” as “Microsoft 365 eSignature” and expanded the service worldwide across all public clouds.

Admins can now request electronic signatures on any Word or PDF stored in SharePoint, with the signed copy staying securely inside the Microsoft 365 tenant for full compliance.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰:

1. 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 – Start a signature request right from the Word Desktop app (Current Channel) using Insert ▸ eSignature fields. Word converts the document to PDF, sends it for signing, and automatically saves the signed PDF back to the same SharePoint library.

2. 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒔𝒂𝒗𝒆-𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 – Signed PDFs from Adobe Acrobat Sign or DocuSign now return automatically to their original SharePoint location—no extra steps.

3. 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆-𝒕𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅𝒔 – Rolling out in October, add blank text boxes so signers can provide job titles, ID numbers, addresses, and more during signing.

These updates make secure, paperless approvals easier for every Microsoft 365 customer – now, everywhere.
