As part of Microsoft’s move to host SharePoint Online static assets through Azure Front Door (AFD), the legacy CDN domain publiccdn.sharepointonline.com will be retired by late April 2026.
If your organization uses hardcoded references to this domain in SharePoint sites, scripts, SPFx solutions, or configurations, it’s time to act.
Once the legacy domain is retired, any content still pointing to it will begin returning 404 errors.
𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒅𝒐:
– Review scripts, applications, and configurations for publiccdn.sharepointonline.com.
– Update references to the new domain: public-cdn.sharepointonline.com.
– Ensure the new domain is added to your network allow lists.
– Validate your updates before March 31, 2026 to avoid service disruptions.
